Time, Dedication and Hurdles
Have you been to DustyGhost.com recently? If you have then I can only apologise. 🙂
If you’ve been there this week more than once, you may have seen it change rapidly as I change WordPress themes, plugins, and functions.
I have been adding all the necessary functionality I need for the projects I am working on, but so far I have not been able to add any of the looks (or fruits of the projects).
The amount of time spent just kicking the site until it does what want caught me by surprise.
I have also fallen victim to a CGI artist’s nightmare. The dreaded colour configuration on my tablet is clearly totally different to real life!
The idea of me getting the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was to have an utterly mobile (and cheap) way to make comics on the go.
I created the first image for the web comic, ready to be posted this week, and something stopped me from uploading the image to the website directly from the tablet.
I am so glad I didn’t upload it yet, as when I got to my main PC at home (that is properly configured colour wise), the image looked pale and washed out!
It would seem that the “vibrant” colours on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 actually don’t help an artist who is trying to choose a nice colour pallet for his comic.
I have a Spyder3 Pro for my home PC, but sadly this does not work on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
All this really translates to: Add an extra colour correction step (on my PC) to my workflow if I use the tablet.
Or make sure I have the colour pallet made up on my PC first, and colour pick from that when on the tablet.
With a bit of luck, I will have a windows tablet in the next few months, and I can use the Spyder3 Pro on that, and not worry about the colour being off any more.
I was hoping to launch the comic this week, but because of the above hurdles, I have been delayed.
However, all is not lost, this is a learning exercise for me too, and I have learnt a ton of stuff about WordPress I didn’t know before.
Not only that, but the main dustyghost.com website is now functioning as I wish, so I am now free to concentrate on the look and feel.
On a side note, I have found some old images of work I have done in 3D, so I have added those to the 3D Concepts section of this site.
In addition to that I was given an old sun-bleached photo to repair for a friend of ours. It was an interesting job, and I am quite proud of the results.

Anyhow, we have more work to do here at DustyGhost.com, and I am still working feverously on getting some content ready.
So, stay tuned.
This is me for this week, signing off.
